Racing Incident Report

CHOICE AND CHANCE was slow to begin. GOLD DIGGER began awkwardly. SOUND OF SILENCE raced in a forward position, however, from an awkward gate travelled wide and without cover, then over the concluding stages gave ground. Shortly after the start, WIN FOR ABALONE was checked when crowded for room inside PLEASURE PLEASURE which was carried in by UNIVERSAL PEGASUS (D Dunn) which shifted ground when not properly clear. In this incident, WIN FOR ABALONE bumped the hindquarters of SOLINUS which also became unbalanced. In the circumstances, D Dunn was severely reprimanded and told he should ensure he is properly clear at all times before shifting ground. At the 1000 Metres, SOLINUS was steadied when awkwardly placed between LUCKY MASTER and PLEASURE PLEASURE which at this time was racing tight inside GOLD DIGGER which had its head on the side and shifted in away from FIRST KNIGHT. FREE WAY, which was following, was steadied in consequence. For some distance after this incident, SOLINUS continued to be awkwardly placed close to the heels of PLEASURE PLEASURE. At the 700 Metres, PLEASURE PLEASURE shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of GOLD DIGGER. For some distance after the 400 Metres, LUCKY MASTER had difficulty obtaining clear running. After the 200 Metres, UNIVERSAL PEGASUS got its head on the side and hung in. After the 100 Metres, WIN FOR ABALONE was shifted to the outside of FLASH MAC to continue going forward. Just prior to the winning post, FLASH MAC was crowded for room inside WIN FOR ABALONE which got its head on the side and shifted in away from SOLINUS. CHOICE AND CHANCE and FORTUNE MAPLE were sent for sampling.
