Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, GANZ WUNDERBAR became very fractious, reared and sat down behind. GANZ WUNDERBAR was removed from its stall and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said after the necessary consultations it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, GANZ WUNDERBAR will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. GANZ WUNDERBAR, which was standing awkwardly, was slow to begin. On jumping, WIKI WIKI and ELETTARIN bumped. Also on jumping, KEEN FLYER bounded in the air. SING AND DRINK and FELICITY were slow to begin. Near the 800 Metres, FANTASTIC HORSE was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside WIKI WIKI which at this time was close to the heels of GOOD LAD which was being steadied away from the heels of KEEN FLYER which steadied the pace slightly after reaching the lead. After this, WIKI WIKI got its head up and hung out which caused crowding on its outside to ELETTARIN and SING AND DRINK which as a result were hampered. On straightening, GANZ WUNDERBAR was steadied and shifted to the outside of SING AND DRINK which at this time was giving ground. Throughout the race, WIN FORTUNE raced wide and without cover. KEEN FLYER was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. SING AND DRINK was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of KEEN FLYER and SING AND DRINK after the race did not show any significant findings. WIKI WIKI and FANTASTIC HORSE were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 28 May 2004)
SING AND DRINK, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. SING AND DRINK was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size on Thursday, 27 May. He said at this time the horse was noted to have a cut and swollen right hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, SING AND DRINK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
