Racing Incident Report

BETTER BOY began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. MASTER GIGOLO was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was steadied when crowded for room between SHINING DRAGON and CORAJOSO which on jumping got its head on the side and shifted out. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, BETTER BOY became momentarily unbalanced when close to the heels of ABLE MARSHALL. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, FANTASTIC STAR got its head on the side and lay in, shortly afterwards was steadied and shifted out across the heels of EVER SUCCESS to go forward. At the 400 Metres, KONRAD THE GREAT was steadied and shifted to the outside of KING OF FISH. After the 100 Metres, DANRIVA, which was closing the race off strongly, was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of PRINCE GOLF which was giving ground. S Dye (DANRIVA) explained after the 700 Metres he considered improving to the outside of BETTER BOY and inside KONRAD THE GREAT, however, at this time BETTER BOY shifted away from the rail to race in a two wide position for a short distance and as he was two lengths back off it, it was not possible for him to improve at that time. He said shortly after this BETTER BOY then shifted back to the rail, however, KONRAD THE GREAT had commenced going forward and shifting across to race outside that horse, therefore he was obliged to remain racing behind those horses. MASTER GIGOLO and EVER SUCCESS were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of MASTER GIGOLO and EVER SUCCESS after the race did not show any significant findings. BETTER BOY and KONRAD THE GREAT were sent for sampling.
