Racing Incident Report
NIGHT HUNTER II was slow to begin. On jumping, SILLY BOY knuckled. Then shortly afterwards, SILLY BOY, LUCKY MASTER and AMOUR were steadied as a result of being hampered by ADVANCE AHEAD which on jumping shifted in abruptly. SPARKLE began awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall and as a consequence lost ground. Near the 1000 Metres, AMOUR got its head up and steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of FLASH MAC. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, NAOMERIC TE SPECSO got its head on the side and hung out. After the 300 Metres, LUCKY MASTER, which was improving towards the outside of NAOMERIC TE SPECSO (Apprentice C W Wong), was hampered and carried wider when that horse shifted out. Apprentice C W Wong was reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount sooner than he did on this occasion. After the 100 Metres, MAESTRO was momentarily steadied when crowded for room inside ADVANCE AHEAD which shifted in. T Mundry (ADVANCE AHEAD) said during the horse's preliminary it had stumbled. He said during the race after beginning awkwardly and shifting in abruptly, the horse then raced ungenerously throughout, at times hung both in and out and did not finish the race off as he had hoped. FLASH MAC was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of FLASH MAC after the race did not show any significant findings. LUCKY MASTER, HK ISLAND VICTORY and PERFECT SCORE were sent for sampling.
