Racing Incident Report
COSMO STAR began awkwardly, was then further hampered and shortly afterwards blundered as a result of striking the heels of SOARING ANGEL which shifted out. GLORIOUS VICTORY, SMILEY WIN and ASIA STAR were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, TOP OF THE CROWN was checked when crowded for room between SMILEY WIN and DESERT ROMEO which shifted in after being bumped by WIN FORTUNE which shifted in despite its head being turned outwards. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Approaching and passing the 300 Metres, COSMO STAR had difficulty obtaining clear running on the outside of SOARING ANGEL and inside TOP OF THE CROWN. Throughout the race, TRIUMPHANT DELIGHT raced wide and without cover, gave ground from about the 500 Metres and finished tailed off. TRIUMPHANT DELIGHT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, TRIUMPHANT DELIGHT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings. The performance of TRIUMPHANT DELIGHT was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TRIUMPHANT DELIGHT will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. COSMO STAR, WIN FORTUNE and ELVIS were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported that GLORIOUS VICTORY had bled from both nostrils.
