Racing Incident Report

PLEDGE OF HONOR proved difficult to load. After being boxed, LUCKY CORDELIA became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, PLEDGE OF HONOUR and LUCKY CORDELIA will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Also after being boxed, VITAL FOUNTAIN became fractious. The performance of VITAL FOUNTAIN, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, VITAL FOUNTAIN will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SHARKI began awkwardly. On jumping, GREAT WIN shifted out. PLEDGE OF HONOR began awkwardly, then shortly after the start bumped with JOY AND TREASURE after being carried out by LUCKY CORDELIA. PURPLE GOLD was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, VITAL FOUNTAIN was bumped by ZHI YOU SPIRIT which after beginning awkwardly shifted out when bumped by CLASSA FOR EVER which also began awkwardly. Shortly after this incident, VITAL FOUNTAIN was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of COULDN'T CARE LESS which shifted in. In the early stages, CLASSA FOR EVER got its head up on a number of occasions and raced greenly. PURPLE GOLD hung out throughout, near the 200 Metres shifted some ground which caused LUCKY CORDELIA to be inconvenienced. Over the concluding stages, SHARKI shifted in and COULDN'T CARE LESS hung out. D Dunn (GREAT WIN) explained the horse raced truly until placed under pressure near the 100 Metres when he hit the horse with the whip in his right hand. He said immediately GREAT WIN shifted abruptly inwards which meant he had to stop riding and straighten his mount. A warning will be placed on GREAT WIN and should it perform similarly in the future, action may be taken. SHARKI and GREAT WIN were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted ZHI YOU SPIRIT had lost its left front plate.
