Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the saddling stalls, it was noted LUCKY GALLOPER had superficial wounds to the left hind cannon and hock. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. LUCKY GALLOPER was again examined by the Veterinary Surgeon after arriving at the Start who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. HAPPY PARTNERS was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between SAN LORENZO and HARVEST which after beginning awkwardly shifted in abruptly. TSZ WAN FORTUNE was slow to begin. In the early stages, SCINTILLATION hung in. S Dye (HAPPY PARTNERS) said the intention had been to ride the horse in a forward position today, however, after being interfered with at the start, the horse got much further back than was intended. He said in the Straight HAPPY PARTNERS commenced to close the race off nicely and near the 100 Metres TSZ WAN FORTUNE and LUCKY GALLOPER were racing forward of him. He said at this time he noticed LUCKY GALLOPER commenced to shift in while being ridden out, it was straightened on one occasion, however, when again being ridden out LUCKY GALLOPER commenced to shift in. He said for this reason he elected to shift to the inside of TSZ WAN FORTUNE to ensure he had clear running in the run to the line. COLOURFUL ERA and TRUST ME were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of COLOURFUL ERA and TRUST ME after the race did not show any significant findings. SAN LORENZO and SCINTILLATION were sent for sampling. An inquiry into the reason for SCINTILLATION being checked near the 700 Metres was adjourned to a date to be fixed. An inquiry into the reason for HAPPY TOGETHER being checked at the 300 Metres was also adjourned to a date to be fixed.
