Racing Incident Report

HAPPY MOMENTUM began awkwardly, got its head up and lost a significant amount of ground at the start. On jumping, JOY FAY FAY blundered. OKEYDOKEY began awkwardly. RED POWER began awkwardly, resulting in K S Yu, its rider, bumping his left knee against the barrier. At the 700 Metres, OKEYDOKEY was bumped by FLASHING STAR which shifted out when being steadied to avoid the heels of OUR CLASS (F Coetzee) which shifted in when only just clear. F Coetzee was advised to exercise more care. Making the Home Turn, HONOUR SUPREME hung out and before straightening was steadied away from the heels of JOY FAY FAY. BEST LUCK and PERFECT MISSION were steadied in consequence. On straightening, PERFECT MISSION was carried wider by BEST LUCK which shifted to the outside of LOYAL DEVOTION to improve. For some distance after the 300 Metres, KIMBERLEY MINES was held up and unable to improve between OUR CLASS and FLASHING STAR. Over the concluding stages, PERFECT MISSION hung in. Throughout the race, HELENE PILLAGING raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. JOY FAY FAY and HELENE PILLAGING were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, JOY FAY FAY and HELENE PILLAGING were examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. BEST LUCK, HONOUR SUPREME and KIMBERLEY MINES were sent for sampling.
