Racing Incident Report
FLYING EAGLE proved very difficult to load which resulted in the start of this race being delayed. Before being allowed to race again, FLYING EAGLE will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. NOBLE WIND was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between SUPER BALL which was carried in by SPOKESMAN and SAND DANCE which shifted out after being bumped by SMILING FOREST which in turn shifted ground after being bumped by CLASSIC PRIDE. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, FLYING EAGLE was bumped by ETERNAL START which shifted in. SUPER BALL made the turn at the 800 Metres awkwardly and was steadied away from the heels of SPOKESMAN. At the 600 Metres, SPOKESMAN was steadied away from the heels of PORTER RICKS. NOBLE WIND, which was following SPOKESMAN, was checked to avoid the heels of that horse. In the middle stages, CLASSIC PRIDE raced greenly and near the 500 Metres was steadied when awkwardly placed inside SAND DANCE and outside the heels of SPOKESMAN. Approaching and making the Home Turn, BEING FAMOUS hung out. Near the 200 Metres, NOBLE WIND was shifted in to avoid the heels of SPOKESMAN which was being carried wider by SMILING FOREST (K C Tsang) which shifted ground while hanging. K C Tsang was told in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount. Throughout the race, SAND DANCE raced wide and without cover, then in the Straight got its head on the side and hung in. SAND DANCE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, SAND DANCE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SAND DANCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FIFTY FIFTY and BEING FAMOUS were sent for sampling.
