Racing Incident Report

A BETTER DRAGON began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped EAST OCEAN DRAGON. D'OR WIN was slow to begin and shortly afterwards was steadied when crowded for room between LUCKY KING and EL VIENTO, both of which shifted ground. On jumping, FIRST KNIGHT, SPEEDING MOLLY and TRIUMPH were hampered and carried wider by PLENTY OF LUCK which shifted out. Near the 1400 Metres, KING OF FIELD was checked when crowded for room inside GLORIOUS RHYTHM which when shifting to a position on the rail behind EAST OCEAN DRAGON came back as the pace steadied in front. When KING OF FIELD checked, inconvenience was caused to A BETTER DRAGON, LUCKY KING and EL VIENTO, all of which were hampered. At the same time, ELITE WIN, which was steadied away from the heels of TRIUMPH, shifted out and caused some inconvenience to GOLDEN SPIRIT. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Approaching and passing the 800 Metres, SPEEDING MOLLY and TRIUMPH proved difficult to settle. On straightening, LUCKY KING was disappointed for running between THISTLEJADE and KING OF FIELD. From on straightening until after the 200 Metres, EAST OCEAN DRAGON was held up and unable to obtain clear running between PLENTY OF LUCK and FIRST KNIGHT. To obtain clear running after the 200 Metres, EAST OCEAN DRAGON was steadied and shifted to the outside of FIRST KNIGHT. GLORIOUS RHYTHM, which had been racing to the inside of EAST OCEAN DRAGON, also had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching and passing the 200 Metres. From after the 400 Metres to near the 200 Metres, TRIUMPH was held up and unable to obtain clear running between D'OR WIN and ELITE WIN. To obtain clear running, TRIUMPH shifted to the outside of ELITE WIN. Near the 200 Metres, W M Lai (FIRST KNIGHT) dropped his whip. KING OF FIELD, SPEEDING MOLLY and TRIUMPH were sent for sampling.
