Racing Incident Report

JOYFUL SPIRIT and DASHING WINNER bounded in the air at the start. FLYING BISHOP and SHANE were slow to begin. ENTERTAINING began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. At the 1300 Metres, DASHING WINNER got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of PALETTE NATURAL. On straightening, SHANE was carried wider by ALWAYS WIN which shifted to the outside of ENTERTAINING into clear running. After the 300 Metres, LUCKY PARADISE was checked and FLYING BISHOP hampered when both horses were disappointed for running when endeavouring to improve between LUCKY LAD and ENTERTAINING where there was insufficient room for two horses. In the incident, LUCKY LAD shifted out slightly and ENTERTAINING shifted in. No action was taken. Y T Cheng (SUCCESSIVE GAINS) said today he had been instructed to ride the horse in a forward position as when being ridden back in the field previously the horse had been disappointing. He said on the track in recent times SUCCESSIVE GAINS had been ridden in front of its workmates and when doing this its work had shown improvement. LUCKY PARADISE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. DAVE'S BEST and PALETTE NATURAL were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted SHANE had lost its right front plate.

LUCKY PARADISE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said at that time there were no significant findings.
