Racing Incident Report

MY HONOUR was withdrawn on 14.11.03 on veterinary grounds (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter EQUATOR KID (D Dunn). Before being allowed to race again, MY HONOUR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When the gates opened, DASHING WINNER reared, then shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of ONE STEP AHEAD which on jumping shifted out. At the 1200 Metres, ONE STEP AHEAD was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of SUPER KID which shifted in when not quite clear. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, FANTASY was bumped by BEST LUCK which raced close to the heels of CLASSIC MASTER and shifted out. In the middle stages and in the Straight, DASHING WINNER hung out. In the Straight, OUR CLASS hung out and after the 400 Metres shifted ground on two occasions and caused crowding to SNIPPEDYDOODA and GEM OF INDIA which were carried wider. Also in the Straight, CELESTIAL MAGIC hung out and raced tight with GOLCONDA. Because of this, on several occasions the whips of Apprentices K T Yeung and C K Tong, the respective riders of these horses, became entangled. Over the concluding stages, DANAMITE raced close to the heels of THE DUKE and because of this was not ridden out to the line as it normally would be. BEST LUCK, SUPER KID and THE DUKE were sent for sampling.
