Racing Incident Report
GOLD MASTER began very awkwardly and bounded in the air. SAN LORENZO and ROUND THE WORLD began awkwardly. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SAN LORENZO was carried wider by MAJOR BEE which shifted to the outside of the heels of STRONG SUN. Making the turn after the 800 Metres, GOLD MASTER hung out. After the 600 Metres, SAN LORENZO was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MAJOR BEE and tight inside UPBEAT. At the 300 Metres, ROUND THE WORLD was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between UPBEAT which was giving ground and TRUST ME which shifted out slightly. Approaching the 200 Metres, MAJIN BUU was momentarily steadied when crowded for room between UPBEAT and SUPER CHARGE. For some distance approaching the 200 Metres, STRONG SUN was held up and unable to improve between GOLDEN FARM and MAJOR BEE which when giving ground shifted in slightly. After this, STRONG SUN was shifted to the outside of MAJOR BEE which over the concluding stages hung out and this caused crowding to STRONG SUN at about the 50 Metres. For some distance after the 200 Metres, GLOBAL FORTUNE was steadied when unable to obtain running to the inside of GOLDEN FARM. Near the 100 Metres, GOLDEN FARM shifted out and this allowed GLOBAL FORTUNE to improve on its inside. Over the concluding stages, GOLD MASTER, which was closing the race off nicely, was improving close to the heels of MAJOR BEE which was giving ground and because of this was not ridden out to the line as it normally would be. D Dunn (SUPER CHARGE) said the horse's work leading into tonight's race was good and he was instructed to ride the horse behind midfield early as it had failed to finish its race off as anticipated when ridden more prominently last start. He said on jumping he immediately allowed SUPER CHARGE to settle behind midfield where the horse travelled comfortably. He said approaching the Home Turn he had the opportunity to improve three wide, however, the horse at this stage did not travel forward as he expected, then in the Straight did not close the race off. He said following the race he advised Mr D A Hayes, the trainer of SUPER CHARGE, that in his opinion consideration should be given to adding blinkers to the horse's gear. SUPER CHARGE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, SUPER CHARGE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. SAN LORENZO and TRUST ME were sent for sampling.
