Racing Incident Report

On jumping, WISHES and CITY FORTUNE were crowded for room between PREMIER BURG which shifted out and GIDDY KIPPER which began awkwardly and shifted in. SENSIBLE ADVICE began awkwardly, resulting in Apprentice C K Tong, its rider, becoming unbalanced. GOOD MAN began awkwardly, shifted out and brushed BRILLIANT PALACE. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, TORI TOP was checked as a result of losing its rightful running to the inside of GOOD MAN which after initially being crowded for room by LUCKY FRIENDS (W Woods) over-reacted, became unbalanced and shifted further on its own accord. In the circumstances, it was considered the appropriate penalty was for W Woods to be severely reprimanded. Near the 900 Metres, SENSIBLE ADVICE was momentarily crowded for room by TORI TOP. After the 700 Metes, LUCKY FRIENDS shifted to the outside of GUSCOTT into clear running. As a result of this, UNIVERSAL GLORY was carried wider. Shortly after this, LUCKY FRIENDS was carried back to a position behind GUSCOTT when UNIVERSAL GLORY shifted in. Making the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, WISHES hung in. At the 400 Metres, THE ONLY HERO was steadied and shifted to the outside of LUCKY FRIENDS to go forward. At the 250 Metres, THE ONLY HERO was shifted to the outside of TORI TOP to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, GOOD MAN raced wide and without cover. CITY FORTUNE, which commenced to give ground at the 600 Metres, was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, CITY FORTUNE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. THE ONLY HERO, UNIVERSAL GLORY and TORI TOP were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted TORI TOP had sustained a laceration to the left front pastern.
