Racing Incident Report

TOY QUEST was slow to begin. SEASONS KNACK began awkwardly, got its head up and lost ground. On jumping, SPINNING CITY and THE GRAND ROOF bumped. PERFETTO began awkwardly. From a wide barrier, GLORIOUS LIGHT travelled in a rearward position, however, was wide and without cover in the early and middle stages. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, PARADIS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPINNING CITY. Near the 200 Metres, PERFETTO was momentarily steadied away from the heels of NATIVE LANGUAGE which shifted out. H K Yim (BOWIN) explained he had been instructed to ride the horse with cover and to ensure if possible it did not over-race. He said his pre-race analysis indicated to him that the race would be run at a good speed, therefore he immediately elected to come back on his mount on jumping and raced with the rear. He said he had TOY QUEST and SEASONS KNACK racing to his inside and he was therefore obliged to race three wide throughout, however, he did have cover behind PERFETTO. He said on straightening he shifted BOWIN to the outside and the horse closed the race off nicely when in the clear. NOBLE MAN and SPINNING CITY were sent for sampling. After the race, EXCITING TIMES was noted to have sustained a laceration to the tongue.
