Racing Incident Report
KING OF THE TURF was a little slow to begin and was then bumped by HONOUR GRADE which shifted in. On jumping, DYNAMIC VISION and THE FACULTY were initially crowded for room between SUPREME STAR which got its head up and shifted out and HK ISLAND VICTORY which shifted in. Shortly after this, SUPREME MOLLY (D Whyte), despite having its head turned out when being ridden along, shifted in and caused crowding on its inside to HK ISLAND VICTORY which as a result shifted in and caused interference on its inside to DYNAMIC VISION, THE FACULTY and SUPREME STAR. D Whyte was severely reprimanded and told whilst there was some contribution from other runners to the early part of the incident, he would be expected in similar circumstances to do more than he did on this occasion to give comfortable racing room to the horses on his inside. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, WELL EXPRESS hung out. Coming off the Home Turn, KING OF THE TURF became unbalanced. At the 250 Metres, HONOUR GRADE and WELL EXPRESS, which was giving ground, bumped. At the final 200 Metres, THE FACULTY hung in and proved difficult to ride. WELL EXPRESS was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, WELL EXPRESS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were made. SUPREME MOLLY and SUPREME STAR were sent for sampling.
