Racing Incident Report
GRANDIOSO began awkwardly and threw its head about. DANDY BUNNY was slow to begin. On jumping, AURELIAN and AMBITION bumped. TANAHMERAH began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall, making the turn at the 800 Metres shifted in abruptly and bumped the running rail, then prior to straightening was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of LASER GLORY which was giving ground. In the early stages, PRECIOUS MOMENTS proved very difficult to settle and on a number of occasions got its head up, then near the 1200 Metres was bumped by THE ACHIEVER which shifted out after being bumped by SUCCESSFUL SPIRIT which shifted ground after bumping with the hindquarters of CHAMP DRAGON. At the 200 Metres, GOOD FRIENDS, which was giving ground, was steadied when crowded for room by TAMAR (R Fradd) which shifted in abruptly after being steadied to avoid the heels of CHAMP DRAGON which was giving ground. R Fradd was advised to exercise more care. AURELIAN was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. A veterinary examination of AURELIAN after the race did not show any significant findings. LASER GLORY was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, it was reported LASER GLORY had bled from both nostrils and was displaying a heart irregularity. Before being permitted to race again, LASER GLORY will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SOLAR EMPIRE and TAMAR were sent for sampling. Following the race, Apprentice K T Yeung reported GRANDIOSO was making an abnormal breathing noise. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said an endoscopic examination showed no significant findings.
