Racing Incident Report
When the gates opened, ARRIBA-ARRIBA stood flat-footed and lost a considerable amount of ground. Also when the gates opened, MILLENNIUM SUPREME put its head down and consequently was slow to begin. BRILLIANT PALACE, which was standing badly, began awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall. Shortly after the start, ALLEZ ALLEZ, which had been a little slow to begin, was steadied when crowded for room between FLORAL DANCER and BLACK CARBINE, both of which shifted ground. Near the 1800 Metres, ON THE TEE got its head up when close to the heels of TWEET. At the 1800 Metres, MILLENNIUM SUPREME was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BLACK CARBINE. After the 1400 Metres, BRILLIANT PALACE was steadied when crowded for room inside the heels of BLACK CARBINE which when proving difficult to settle was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHATER LANE. At this time, MILLENNIUM SUPREME was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of BLACK CARBINE. For some distance after this, BLACK CARBINE continued to prove difficult to settle and raced tight against ALLEZ ALLEZ and near the 1200 Metres BRILLIANT PALACE which was following was checked. Shortly after straightening, KASHMAC was steadied and shifted to the inside of ALLEZ ALLEZ which was shifting out. After the 200 Metres, KASHMAC was again steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between CHATER LANE and ALLEZ ALLEZ which shifted in slightly. At the 100 Metres, ARRIBA-ARRIBA, which was beginning to close off strongly, was checked and shifted out to avoid the heels of MILLENNIUM SUPREME which was giving ground. BRILLIANT PALACE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, BRILLIANT PALACE, which tailed out, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said there were no significant findings. The performance of BRILLIANT PALACE was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BRILLIANT PALACE will be required to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FLORAL DANCER and CHATER LANE were sent for sampling. An inquiry into the reason for BRILLIANT PALACE being checked at the 2100 Metres was adjourned until before the running of Race 1 next Sunday 22 June 2003. An inquiry into the reason for BLACK CARBINE being inconvenienced prior to straightening was also adjourned until before the running of Race 1 next Sunday 22 June 2003.
