Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, WINNING PARADE was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations was considered suitable to race. Also after arriving at the Start, the tongue tie on ASIA STAR was refitted. After being boxed, ASIA STAR became fractious and broke through. ASIA STAR was quickly restrained and returned to the Start where it was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, ASIA STAR will be required to pass an official barrier trial. WISDOM EXPRESS began very awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the inside of its gate. As the gates opened, ACE OF PACE put its head down and consequently was slow to begin. BEAMING RIVER was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, ASIA STAR and SOUTH CHINA NINETY bumped. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, ASIA STAR was checked when crowded for room between SOUTH CHINA NINETY and BELONG TO US which got its head on the side and shifted in away from SHOGUN. In the circumstances, no action was taken. At the 600 Metres, CHINA WORLD became unbalanced and bumped the running rail. Prior to straightening, WISDOM EXPRESS was steadied away from the heels of ACE OF PACE. ASIA STAR was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, ASIA STAR was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. THE ONLY ONE and CHINA WORLD were sent for sampling.
