Racing Incident Report
Due to a number of riders who became unavailable following the fall in Race 6, the Stewards acceded to a request of Mr S Woods, trainer of GOOD RECORD, that he be permitted to substitute the indisposed G Schofield with G Mossé one lb overweight at 122 lbs. PEAK POWER, which was standing awkwardly, bounded in the air and lost ground at the start. TOP PRIZE was slow to begin and shortly after the start was bumped by CHIU CHOW BROTHER. GOOD RECORD was slow to begin. In the early and middle stages, JOYFUL SPIRIT proved difficult to settle. Near the 1100 Metres, TOP PRIZE got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of CHIU CHOW BROTHER which was racing close to the heels of CHEEKY. At the 700 Metres, GOOD RECORD got its head up when close to the heels of AMBITIOUS TYCOON. In the early part of the Straight, CHIU CHOW BROTHER had difficulty obtaining a run behind MARK OF EXCELLENCE and inside GOOD RECORD. Near the 300 Metres, AMBITIOUS TYCOON was momentarily steadied when disappointed for running between JOYFUL SPIRIT and MARK OF EXCELLENCE. JOYFUL SPIRIT, CHEEKY and PLANET RULER were sent for sampling.
