Racing Incident Report
KEEP ON EASY bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. SPEEDING MOLLY was slow to begin. In the early stages, KEEP ON EASY proved difficult to settle and at the 800 Metres got its head up when close to the heels of BABY KING. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SHERWOOD FOREST got its head up, became unbalanced, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of COME AGAIN. Making the Home Turn, COME AGAIN hung out badly. On straightening, KEEP ON EASY, which was held up for running, was steadied away from the heels of MANAU, at the 300 Metres was momentarily steadied when crowded for room while attempting to improve into a tight run between BABY KING and MANAU, then over the final 200 Metres hung in. M Walker (PEACH BLOSSOM) said he had ridden the horse in its trials leading up to today's race, on the first occasion the horse trialed in a rearward position and then subsequently led in the trial. He said today he was instructed to ride the horse amongst runners in the field as it had shown a tendency to be green during its morning work. He said PEACH BLOSSOM began fairly, he endeavoured to shift to a position behind CHING HOI BOY, however, SHERWOOD FOREST was racing to his inside and prevented him shifting in further. He said in the early stages PEACH BLOSSOM did race a little greenly and because SHERWOOD FOREST continued to race off the fence, it allowed COME AGAIN the opportunity to shift in in front of PEACH BLOSSOM. He said making the first turn PEACH BLOSSOM raced awkwardly and had a tendency to hang out. M Walker was advised his riding in the early stages of the race had come under notice and he should ensure that he rides in a manner which is not open to query. CHING HOI BOY, SHINING DRAGON and MANAU were sent for sampling.
