Racing Incident Report
HIMALAYA began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped CLASSIC MASTER. Making the first turn, CHEEKY hung out and was steadied away from the heels of DARWIN. At the 1200 Metres, STRONG SCOTCH was carried wider by HIMALAYA which was proving difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of CHEEKY. Over the concluding stages, HIMALAYA hung in. Apprentice K T Yeung (CROCKER) was reprimanded and advised against making celebratory gestures prior to the winning post. HIMALAYA and CHARIOT OF STORM were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of HIMALAYA after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, CHARIOT OF STORM, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, CHARIOT OF STORM will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. TEMMOKU, CROCKER and CHEEKY were sent for sampling.

Following the running of this race, HIMALAYA was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. HIMALAYA was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer L Fownes yesterday morning and was found to be jarred up in both front fetlocks.
