Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, it was noted CITY FORTUNE had its tongue over the bit. This was rectified before the horse was loaded into the stalls. On jumping, TIMBER CITY shifted in and bumped TRULY THE BEST which as a result shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of SILVER JET. VIGOROSO and HORSE AROUND were slow to begin. From the outside gate, PRIZES TREASURE was obliged to race wide and without cover throughout. In the early stages, BEIJING DOLLAR proved difficult to settle. At the 900 Metres, TIMBER CITY was steadied to avoid the heels of SILVER JET which shifted in when barely clear. At the 100 Metres, CITY FORTUNE, which was giving ground, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of TIMBER CITY (D Whyte) which shifted out when not quite clear. D Whyte was advised to exercise more care. S Dye (PERFECT SCORE) said today the horse continually changed legs throughout the race which it did not do at its previous start. He said the horse did not appear sore to him, however, its action in his opinion accounted for its poor performance today. PERFECT SCORE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of PERFECT SCORE after the race did now show any significant findings. Before being permitted to race again, PERFECT SCORE will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. PRIZES TREASURE and TIMBER CITY were sent for sampling.
