Racing Incident Report
On jumping, HO CHOI was crowded for room between THANK HEAVENS and ASIA RISING which began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall and then shifted in. Shortly after the start, GOOD RECORD was steadied when crowded for room between ASIA RISING and FERRULE which was carried in by BULLISH LUCK which got its head on the side and shifted away from CAPE OF GOOD HOPE. Shortly after this, BULLISH LUCK was bumped by CAPE OF GOOD HOPE which shifted in. At the 1200 Metres, THANK HEAVENS was steadied to avoid the heels of HO CHOI which was carried in by BULLISH LUCK which in turn was carried in by TRIPLE EXPRESSO (Apprentice K T Yeung) which shifted ground when not quite clear. Apprentice K T Yeung was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. At the 1100 Metres, ABLE CHOICE shifted out and bumped CLEMENT SUPREME. In the early part of the Straight, SOLID CONTACT was held up behind OVATION which was giving ground and inside PRIME WITNESS. After the 400 Metres, HO CHOI was steadied when crowded for room between PRIME WITNESS and TRIPLE EXPRESSO which shifted in. In this incident, HO CHOI was struck on the head by the whip of Apprentice K T Yeung. After the 300 Metres, ABLE CHOICE was shifted to the inside of HO CHOI to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, FERRULE was obliged to race wide and without cover. FERRULE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, FERRULE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. ABLE CHOICE, BULLISH LUCK and CAPE OF GOOD HOPE were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted ASIA RISING had sustained a laceration to its left hind fetlock. Before being permitted to race again, ASIA RISING, which finished at the rear, will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
