Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the Start, it was noted WISDOM EXPRESS had loosened a nail on its left fore plate. This plate was reset. The horse was trotted up, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations was passed suitable to race. WISDOM EXPRESS was slow to begin and shortly afterwards was crowded for room between TANAHMERAH and HAPPY DRAGON, both of which shifted ground. On jumping, MONEY was checked when crowded for room between MY PARTNER and SHANTOU TREASURE, both of which shifted ground. At the start, HORACE'S HORSE was bumped by FAIRWAY FINDER which shifted out abruptly. SOLAR was slow to begin. G Mossé (MY PARTNER) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of JOYFUL MASTER, causing that horse to be carried in across the rightful running of CAPITAL GAIN which as a result was checked. G Mossé was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 28 April 2003 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong race days). The commencement of this suspension was deferred until after the meeting at Sha Tin next Sunday 13 April 2003. A request from G Mossé that the suspension imposed be commenced immediately was not acceded to. Shortly after straightening, SOLAR was steadied away from the heels of MONEY which shifted out. At the 200 Metres, CAPITAL GAIN was steadied and shifted to the outside of JOYFUL MASTER to obtain clear running and continue going forward. Y T Cheng (WISDOM EXPRESS) explained in the middle stages WISDOM EXPRESS hung out and made the turn near the 600 Metres awkwardly, therefore he elected to remain racing behind HORACE'S HORSE in a two wide position. He said he continued racing behind HORACE'S HORSE until after straightening when he then shifted to the inside of TANAHMERAH and obtained uninterrupted running in the run to the line. JOYFUL MASTER and TANAHMERAH were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted WISDOM EXPRESS had lost its left fore plate.
