Racing Incident Report

CAVIAR ONE was slow to begin, then on jumping shifted out abruptly and as a consequence got well back. NEW DYNASTY began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the outside gate of its barrier. WINNING WAYS began awkwardly, put its head up and lost ground at the start. Shortly after the start, BIA DESERT was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY BIRD after being carried out by NEW DYNASTY. In the early stages, BUCK'S FIZZ proved difficult to settle. In the early and middle stages, NEW DYNASTY proved difficult to settle, making the turn after the 800 Metres commenced to hang out badly and near the 700 Metres shifted ground and was checked away from the heels of BIA DESERT. For some distance near the 1100 Metres, EASTERN TYCOON raced tight inside HORSE AROUND. At the 300 Metres, LUCKY BIRD was bumped on the hindquarters by FIRST KNIGHT which was shifting to the outside of BUCK'S FIZZ to obtain clear running. Near the 100 Metres, CAVIAR ONE was switched to the inside of DANELAW to obtain clear running. BIA DESERT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, BIA DESERT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He noted blood to be present at the right nostril of the horse. An endoscopic examination was carried out. This confirmed BIA DESERT had bled. FIRST KNIGHT and BUCK'S FIZZ were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted DANELAW was making an abnormal breathing noise. The horse has previously been reported as a "roarer".
