Racing Incident Report

GREEN VACATION, DESERT STORM and BORN DRAGON were slow to begin. FAT CHOY TREASURE began awkwardly and shifted out. EVER MORE, which was to be ridden in a rearward position today, on jumping got its head up, shifted in and bumped PROFIT DAY. For some distance after this, EVER MORE proved difficult to settle and on a number of occasions got its head up, then at the 1200 Metres shifted in when only just clear of SMILING FOREST, causing that horse to be momentarily steadied. At the 800 Metres, SING A SONG was steadied away from the heels of FAT CHOY TREASURE which after being crossed by CELESTIAL MAGIC was reluctant to hold its position. After the 400 Metres, PRIME VAIN, which had been held up for running, was shifted towards the outside of ACME OF SURPRISE in an endeavour to obtain a run between that horse and BORN DRAGON. PRIME VAIN was disappointed for this run and bumped the hindquarters of BORN DRAGON. In the Straight, MASTERY was inclined to lay in. From a wide barrier, PROFIT DAY was obliged to race wide without cover, then over the concluding stages tailed off. The performance of PROFIT DAY was considered unacceptable. Before PROFIT DAY can race again, it must perform competitively in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MASTERY and PROFIT DAY were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, MASTERY and PROFIT DAY were examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. WELL BEST, CELESTIAL MAGIC and DESERT STORM were sent for sampling.
