Racing Incident Report

SMILEY WIN and REFRESHINGLY were slow to begin. PERFECT VISION and CONGEE KING began awkwardly. APRIL HARE began awkwardly, got its head up and bumped the inside gate of its stall. APRIL HARE then hung in throughout. Shortly after the start, PERFECT VISION was steadied away from the heels of HONG KONG STAR which shifted out abruptly. At the 300 Metres, CONGEE KING was steadied to avoid the heels of WINNING SEASON which shifted out. After the 200 Metres, SMILEY WIN was inclined to lay out and near the 100 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of WINWIN COMBINATION to continue going forward. When being eased down following the race, APRIL HARE (F Coetzee) sustained an injury to its left fore leg. This necessitated F Coetzee dismounting. As F Coetzee dismounted, he sustained an injury to his right knee which required him to be attended to by the medical officers immediately, as such he was unable to weigh in following the race. As the Stewards were satisfied F Coetzee had weighed out at not less than his proper weight and there were no circumstances to suggest less than the proper weight was carried by APRIL HARE throughout the race, they declared weighed-in under the provisions of Rule 112(5). APRIL HARE and I DELIVER were sent for sampling.
