Racing Incident Report

DANDY BUNNY was slow to begin. On jumping, GALLANT HORSE shifted out abruptly, resulting in SUPER SPRINT being carried out and SUPER FORCE being checked to avoid the heels of PLANET RULER. From a barrier towards the outside, SUPER SPRINT was obliged to race wide and without cover throughout and in the concluding stages dropped out. At the 800 Metres, MODERN PROSPECT was checked when crowded for room by SMILING FOREST (D Whyte) which despite having its head turned out slightly shifted in away from GALLANT HORSE. SHINING GEM and GOLDEN SPIRIT, which were following, were checked in consequence. In the circumstances, it was decided no action be taken, however, D Whyte was severely reprimanded and told he was at all times to ensure he did his utmost to protect his fellow riders. SUPER SPRINT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, SUPER SPRINT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination revealed the horse had a significant amount of mucus in the trachea. Before SUPER SPRINT can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. Also after the race, EXCITING TIMES was examined by the Veterinary Officer. An endoscopic examination showed a significant quantity of blood in the trachea. Before EXCITING TIMES can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. PLANET RULER and GEM OF INDIA were sent for sampling.
