Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, SIROCCO became fractious, broke through, was quickly pulled up, returned to the Start where it was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations it was decided SIROCCO was suitable to race. However, before SIROCCO can race again, it will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. CITI CENTRE was slowly away. Near the 600 Metres, ORLANDO FLYER brushed the running rail. Just after straightening, SIROCCO was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running inside CENTURY HORSE and then after the 200 Metres was shifted in when disappointed for running between CENTURY HORSE and BOLD VISION. When SIROCCO shifted in, some inconvenience was caused to FORWOOD. When SIROCCO shifted out in the early part of the Straight, inconvenience was caused to ORLANDO FLYER which was shifted to the outside of BOLD VISION to try and find running. ELEPHANT DANCE, HARMONY PARTNER and REWARD were sent for sampling.
Addition to Racing Incidents Report (released on 21 Dec. 2002)
Whilst the Stewards considered the riding of A Suborics (CENTURY HORSE) in the run to the line did not affect the horse's finishing position and accordingly they did not consider a breach of Rule 100(2) occurred, they did however advised A Suborics he must ride all mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race whenever possible.
