Racing Incident Report
GOOD TIME FOR ALL left the gates awkwardly, shifted in abruptly and bumped GOLDEN PROMISE. SING AND DRINK missed the start slightly, was then checked when crowded between NICE FRIENDS and SPEEDY EXPRESS which on jumping shifted in abruptly. The occurrence was accidental. SUPER BEST was slowly away. About the 200 Metres, GOOD TIME FOR ALL was shifted out abruptly to find running, then in the run to the winning post shifted out. In the Straight, SING AND DRINK hung out badly. Also in the Straight, MIRACLES raced greenly and shifted ground. G Schofield (ABLE EAGLE) explained in the two runs the horse had had to date, it had been ridden forward and weakening and therefore tonight he was instructed by the trainer to ride the horse more quietly, find cover and see if it would close off. He said he had ridden ABLE EAGLE in a gallop on the grass track recently when the race day going had been tested, he thought this work was good and although the horse was given a chance in tonight's race, it did not finish off as he thought it would. DRAGON HORSE and GOOD TIME FOR ALL were sent for sampling. After the race, NICE FRIENDS was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. An endoscopic examination was performed and this revealed the horse had a significant amount of blood in its windpipe. Before NICE FRIENDS can race again, it must pass an official veterinary examination.
