Racing Incident Report
When the gates opened, POSEIDON bounded in the air. On jumping, MAGNIFICENT shifted out and bumped FIRST KNIGHT. FABULOUS was slowly away. For a short distance near the 400 Metres, PAR AVION had trouble obtaining a run inside POPULAR CHOICE and about the 200 Metres was shifted out to find clear running. E Saint-Martin (POPULAR CHOICE) explained after the 600 Metes when other runners came around him, POPULAR CHOICE commenced to lay in and appeared to lose its balance. In the Straight, he continued to be concerned with the action of POPULAR CHOICE and did not ride it out to the finish as he normally would. POPULAR CHOICE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer examined POPULAR CHOICE. No abnormalities were detected. Before POPULAR CHOICE can race again, it must pass an official veterinary examination. MARK OF EXCELLENCE and PAR AVION were sent for sampling.
