Racing Incident Report
On leaving the Parade Ring, DANELAW made contact with a rail. After arriving at the Start, the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. No abnormalities were detected. The horse was passed suitable to race. DANELAW left the gates very awkwardly with its head up. On jumping, INCREDIBLE shifted in and bumped HOWSON. In the early stages, SECOND OPINION from the outside gate was ridden hard in an endeavour to go to the front, was unable to clear LUCKY SUPREME, had to race wide and over the concluding stages weakened. At about the 1000 Metres, DRAGON WIN threw its head about when pulling and close to the heels of OPTIC DYNAMIC. For some distance approaching and rounding the Home Turn, DANELAW was held up behind SECOND OPINION which was giving ground. BEST EVER, which was following DANELAW, was held up as a consequence. To obtain running, BEST EVER was shifted out abruptly near the 400 Metres, in doing so made contact with KASHMAC. About right on the winning post, HOWSON was steadied when crowded for room by NIGHT HUNTER II. DRAGON WIN and OPTIC DYNAMIC were sent for sampling.
