Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the Start, QUICK NEWS was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. He said he was unable to find any abnormalities and after the necessary consultations it was decided QUICK NEWS was suitable to race. CAPITAL GAIN left the gates awkwardly with its head up, shifted in and bumped QUEEN'S GLORY, causing that horse to lose its position. The occurrence was accidental. QUICK NEWS, which was restless in the boxes, jumped awkwardly. On jumping, ESCALATION and ETERNAL START came together. Almost immediately on leaving the gates, NOBLE HERO commenced to hang out, throughout the race hung out badly, covered a lot of ground and over the concluding stages weakened. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, BLAZING BOB got its head up and hung out. About the 200 Metres, QUICK NEWS, which was closing well, steadied and shifted in to avoid QUEEN'S GLORY. In the run to the line, QUEEN'S GLORY hung out. ETERNAL START was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, ETERNAL START was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. SUPREME STAR and CAPITAL GAIN were sent for sampling.
