Racing Incident Report
When the gates opened, PROMOKING bounded in the air, as a result of this lost a lot of ground. Near the 800 Metres, DASHING CHAMPION hung out away from I AM OKAY, then approaching and rounding the Home Turn hung out badly. Just after the 800 Metres, D'OR WIN was steadied when close to the heels of THE ACHIEVER which also was racing close to the heels of GOOD PROSPERITY. Shortly after this, THE ACHIEVER shifted to race behind COMPANION. Rounding the Home Turn, PLENTY OF LUCK hung out. About right on the winning post, COMPANION turned its head to the left and attempted to savage THE ACHIEVER. Mr I W Allan, trainer of COMPANION, will be told should the horse continue with this practice, action will be taken against it. PARADIS, DASHING CHAMPION, THE ACHIEVER and COMPANION were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Report (released on 2 Dec. 2002) :
The stable Veterinary Surgeon reported today that PLENTY OF LUCK was lame in its left front knee on cooling down after running last Saturday. Before the horse can race again, it must pass an official veterinary examination.
