Racing Incident Report

ENERGY VITALITY was withdrawn on 5.10.02 on veterinary grounds (right fore tendon injury) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter GOOD WIN (D Dunn). Before ENERGY VITALITY can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. WINNING PLEASURE left the gates awkwardly, then rounding the turn and in the Straight had a tendency to lay out. When the gates opened, DEVON ELITE bounded in the air, shifted in slightly and bumped ALF. ACCLAMATION made the Home Turn awkwardly and hung out. C Williams (ACCLAMATION) stated he considered the horse was sore in front and did not ride it out in the Straight as he normally would. ACCLAMATION was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer said he noted the horse had a significant outward swing of its left front leg, but does not have a history of front leg soreness. ACCLAMATION will be examined again tomorrow. Before ACCLAMATION can run again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. GOOD WIN, GOLDEN AIR and GLORY HERO were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted WINNING PLEASURE was bleeding from both nostrils. Additional Veterinary Report from 6 October 2002 Race Meeting ACCLAMATION, which was disappointing yesterday, was examined at the stable of Trainer L Fownes this morning. The examination was carried out by Dr Brian Stewart, the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said he was unable to detect any significant abnormality. However, before ACCLAMATION can race again, it will still be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
