Racing Incident Report

H K Yim (ACCURACY) was fined $3,000 for negligently weighing out without his girth. Before ACCURACY was saddled, H K Yim was reweighed. On jumping, NOBLE CHARGE and CHAMPION BOY were checked when crowded for room between REFRESHINGLY which shifted in away from INSIGHTOREALITY and NAZAKAT II which jumped awkwardly with its head up and shifted out abruptly after being bumped by ACCURACY. Shortly after the start, NAZAKAT II got its head up when being steadied from between REFRESHINGLY and ACCURACY, then shifted across behind runners to take up a position closer to the rail. Near the 600 Metres, REFRESHINGLY was steadied and shifted out abruptly to avoid TWIN WIZARDS which was giving ground. When making some ground in the Straight, CHAMPION BOY lay in. After the 300 Metres, BEST EVER was steadied and shifted to the outside of HANDSOME MAN to find running and endeavour to go forward. When asked about the disappointing performance of TWIN WIZARDS, D Dunn said the horse had trialed satisfactorily in the lead up to today's race and it was hoped TWIN WIZARDS could race competitively today. He said from a good draw it was his intention to either lead or race outside the leader. Because of this in the early stages he rode along in an endeavour to keep HANDSOME MAN out and maintain his position beside BONANZA, but was unable to do so. He said immediately TWIN WIZARDS was crossed by HANDSOME MAN, it commenced to race ungenerously and whilst he was reluctant to do so, he pulled the whip before the 600 Metres in an endeavour to keep TWIN WIZARDS racing. He said however as other runners ran around him, TWIN WIZARDS raced very awkwardly, hung out and dropped out despite his hard riding. He did go on to say in the Straight when all others had passed him, TWIN WIZARDS was more inclined to stretch out and race as it should. TWIN WIZARDS was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, TWIN WIZARDS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He was unable to detect any abnormalities. The Stewards considered the performance of TWIN WIZARDS to be unacceptable. Before the horse can race again, it will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. HANDSOME MAN was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, HANDSOME MAN was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were detected. CLASSIC CHOICE and CHEVAL D'OR were sent for sampling.
