Racing Incident Report
When GOLDEN SPIRIT (D Whyte) was being saddled, the attendants noted a piece of lead on the floor of the saddling stall. As they were not sure where the lead had come from, D Whyte was reweighed. It was established that the lead had dropped from the pocket in his saddle. It should be noted that the matter was observed and rectified by the stables staff of Trainer K W Lui. MAGNIFICENT, which was not standing well, left the gates awkwardly and bumped the inside of its stall, as a consequence of this lost a lot of ground. In the early stages, MASCOT was inclined to hang in, as a consequence of this just after the start some crowding was caused to AMO. In the Straight, AMZA KING became unbalanced several times and was inclined to lay in. In the run to the winning post, GOLDEN SPIRIT was inclined to shift ground. Because of this, D Whyte stopped riding and straightened. Throughout the race, MAGIC TOUCH hung out badly and performed poorly. The run was considered unacceptable. Before MAGIC TOUCH can race again, it will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. GOLDEN SPIRIT, AMO, TABBRIS and MASCOT were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported OH GREAT was making an abnormal breathing noise. The Veterinary Officer examined the horse. An endoscopic examination was carried out and no significant findings were detected.
