Racing Incident Report

ORLANDO FLYER was slow to begin. OWNERS' JOY was slowly away. About the 500 Metres, SPRINTER and GOOD FIT bumped. For some distance in the early part of the Straight, I WIN was unable to obtain running between WINWIN COMBO and GOOD FIT. After the 200 Metres, I WIN was shifted to the outside of WINWIN COMBO to obtain clear running and go forward. Over about the last 200 Metres, ORLANDO FLYER was not able to obtain clear running. Because of this, the horse was not ridden out as it normally would be. Over about the last 100 Metres, NEW PLANET did not obtain clear running. The horse was not ridden to the line in the normal fashion. E Saint-Martin (WATCH ME WIN) said although the horse is probably better over more ground, the intention tonight was to ride it handy if possible. He said after being boxed WATCH ME WIN turned its head to the left side and for some time had its nose between the bars on the front of the starting gates. He said because of this he sought the assistance of an attendant to straighten WATCH ME WIN up, just before the gates opened, the horse did get its nose out of the bars, but then came from the gates very awkwardly, bounded in the air and got much further back than was the intention. SPRINTER and EXPLOSIVE POWER were sent for sampling.
