Racing Incident Report
HIGHLIGHT was withdrawn on 4.6.02 on veterinary grounds (lame near fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter BELLAGIO (E Saint-Martin). HONEST DRAGON was also withdrawn on 4.6.02 on veterinary grounds (stiff action both fore legs) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter LONGMARK (H K Yim). Before being permitted to race again, HIGHLIGHT and HONEST DRAGON will both be required to pass an official veterinary examination. PLENTY WIN left the gates very awkwardly and shifted out, as a consequence of this Y T Cheng became momentarily unbalanced and lost the use of his near side stirrup iron for a short distance. When shifting ground, PLENTY WIN bumped PERFECT VICTORY. From the outside gate, COMMON PLACE was steadied on jumping, shifted across to a position at the rear but closer to the rail. After the 200 Metres, DE INTEGRO was shifted out when disappointed for a run inside ME FIRST. CLEVER CITATION was obliged to race wide throughout without any cover and over the concluding stages dropped out. RACE TO HONOUR was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said PLENTY WIN was significantly lame in its near side front leg. Before the horse can race again, it will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and must pass an official veterinary examination. Also after the race, G Mossé (MR BASKETBALL) said the horse was not stretching as it should and he thought it was lame MR BASKETBALL was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, had the horse trotted up and was not able to find any abnormalities.
