Racing Incident Report
Whilst being saddled, GOLDEN WARRIOR became restless, reared and momentarily got down. The horse was trotted up, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and following the necessary consultations was passed suitable to race. After arriving at the Start, GOLDEN WARRIOR was once again examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and it was again reported the horse was suitable to race. After being boxed, HANDSOME MAN became restless, got its head down and was momentarily wedged under the bottom of the starting stalls. The horse was released, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations it was decided that HANDSOME MAN was suitable to race. Before racing again, HANDSOME MAN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. TIME TO SURF was slowly away. In the early stages, MR HONOUR raced ungenerously, was inclined to lay out and on several occasions became unbalanced when close to the heels of MONEY STAR, then in the Straight experienced some difficulty of obtaining a clear run. After the 800 Metres, when HONG KONG STAR commenced to give ground quickly, inconvenience was caused to EVERWELL FOREVER and to a lesser extent MR HONOUR. The performance of HONG KONG STAR which tailed out was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, it will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and must pass an official veterinary examination. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, CASH hung out. For some distance in the early part of the Straight, SCHOLARSHIP was held up behind TRY YOUR BEST. About the 200 Metres, GOLDEN WARRIOR was steadied and shifted out to find running. HANDSOME MAN and HOLY RANTO were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said MONEY STAR had sustained a laceration to the outside area of its near front cannon.
