Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, Apprentice S K Sit said to the Veterinary Surgeon he was concerned with the manner in which the horse had worked to the Start. The Veterinary Surgeon had the horse trotted up, in his opinion was stiff in front and on this advice ROYAL TREASURE was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before the horse can race again, it has to pass an official veterinary examination. APRIL HARE left the gates very awkwardly with its head up, shifted in abruptly and bumped JET JACKSON. On jumping, REFRESHINGLY was restrained, in doing so shifted ground and made contact with ROYAL ARMY. From a difficult gate, AMO was caught wide and for most of the race travelled without any cover. About the 600 Metres, ABLE MARSHALL was awkwardly placed between JUST VICTORY and AMO. Because of this, ABLE MARSHALL shifted some ground. HONOURABLE, which was following, became unbalanced and shifted out when close to the heels of ABLE MARSHALL. Approaching, rounding the turn and in the Straight, PAR AVION hung in. As a consequence of this, some inconvenience was caused to PERFECT SHADOW at about the 400 Metres. AMO was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, it was noted that AMO had sustained a laceration to the inside of its near side hind fetlock joint.
