Racing Incident Report
THE GOV was withdrawn on 20.4.02 on veterinary grounds (swollen near fore tendon) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter EXPEDIENT (E Legrix). Before being allowed to race again, THE GOV will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. On jumping, ZIETENGO BOY and VALUATE came together. EQUIKIT missed the start badly. DISTINCTION left the gates very awkwardly, shifted out and bumped MY HEART which then in the early stages appeared reluctant to stretch out. Subsequent to the race, M Cahill confirmed that the horse was reluctant to stretch out and on several occasions he considered easing MY HEART down. Before racing again, MY HEART will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. Approaching the 800 Metres, DISTINCTION, which was racing outside ZIETENGO BOY, was steadied. Because of this, VALUATE, which was following, was eased and SEASONS TREASURE which was following VALUATE was also inconvenienced, shifted out and after this raced without cover. Rounding the turn and in the Straight, DISTINCTION hung in. LUCKY COMBINATION was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
