Racing Incident Report

FERRULE was withdrawn on 12.4.02 on veterinary grounds (sore and enlarged off fore capped elbow) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter LUCKY SUPERSTAR (D Whyte). Before being allowed to race again, FERRULE will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. TOYMARK left the gates awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and bumped GREEN CENTURY which in turn shifted ground and made contact with GOLDEN YEARS. On jumping, from an outside gate, CELEBRATION was steadied and shifted across to take up a position closer to the rail but at the rear. For some distance in the early part of the Straight, CLASSIC MASTER was held up for running. The horse was able to obtain a run over about the last 200 Metres. About the 200 Metres, TOYMARK was shifted out to obtain a run between GOLDEN YEARS and GREEN CENTURY. The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in as S Dye (TOYMARK), second placegetter, had been instructed by Mr J Size, trainer, to view the official video of the race in the run to the line. Mr Size asked S Dye to check as to whether LUCKY STALLION had caused indirect crowding to his horse over the latter stages. After S Dye had viewed the available video, he formed the view that it would be inappropriate to lodge a protest/objection. Accordingly weighed-in was semaphored. CLASSIC MASTER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
