Racing Incident Report

Whilst parading for the race, the Veterinary Surgeon noted that LUCKY TIME had a mild rash on its off side hindquarters. He discussed this with the trainer who said the horse had been suffering from this condition for about two days. The Veterinary Surgeon said however in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. On the way to the Start, W M Lai was dislodged from FANTASTIC WIN. After being caught, the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. BLUE STITCH was slowly away. JOYFUL SPIRIT left the gates very awkwardly, shifted in and as a consequence FANTASTIC WIN was checked. When FANTASTIC WIN checked just after the start, BLUE STITCH was awkward on its heels. HOWSON left the gates very awkwardly and threw its head about. As a consequence of this, Apprentice M W Leung momentarily lost the use of his near side iron. NEVER HEADED left the gates awkwardly and just after the start was unbalanced when close to the heels of RED LANCER which threw its head about and shifted in. Throughout the event, ST VIVANT was inclined to race greenly with its head up and hanging in. RED LANCER raced greenly throughout. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said LUCKY TIME had lost its off side front plate.
