Racing Incident Report
HELENE EXPRESS was slowly away. On jumping, HAPPY MOMENTUM threw its head about. About the 1400 Metres, MAN OF HONOUR got its head up when being steadied to take up a position behind GOLCONDA. Rounding the turn, INDIGENOUS hung out. On straightening, MERIDIAN STAR and CHEERS HONG KONG came together as MERIDIAN STAR endeavoured to shift out. Near the 200 Metres, MERIDIAN STAR was momentarily unbalanced when close to the heels of RED SUN. Approaching the winning post, M Cahill (MERIDIAN STAR) was hit on the arm on two occasions by the whip of E Saint-Martin (CHEERS HONG KONG). At the conclusion of this inquiry, E Saint-Martin was told it is in his interests to provide inquiries with more straightforward evidence than he did on this occasion. CHEERS HONG KONG was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
