Racing Incident Report

GANBARIA STAR missed the start. When the gates opened, DIVINE FEELING bounded in the air. MONEY WINS left the gates very awkwardly and shifted out. On jumping, MILLENNIUM DAWN shifted out abruptly and bumped the hindquarters of HOLY QUEST. In the early stages, WINWIN COMBINATION proved very difficult to settle, got its head up and shifted out. About the 800 Metres, GANBARIA STAR got its head up and became unbalanced when close to the heels of CLASSIC CHOICE. Near the 600 Metres, MILLENNIUM DAWN, which was being ridden in a rearward position and inclined to be pulling, became unbalanced when racing close to the heels of GANBARIA STAR. Approaching and rounding the turn, HOLE IN ONE had a tendency to lay out. About the 200 Metres, WINWIN COMBINATION, which was giving ground, became unbalanced when crowded between TRY YOUR BEST and MONEY WINS. In the Straight, DIVINE FEELING hung in and proved difficult to ride out. About 100 Metres out, CLASSIC CHOICE was steadied and shifted in abruptly to avoid GREAT CHIEF. After the race, O Doleuze (MONEY WINS) was told the Racing Stewards of the Hong Kong Jockey Club in no way wish to curtail displays of exuberance by those who are enjoying success. He was told however there is a limit to which such displays can be taken and his actions of recent times have gone close to breaching what could be considered acceptable. CLASSIC CHOICE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said GREAT CHIEF had sustained a minor laceration to the near hind coronet band. He also said LANDLORD had sustained superficial wounds to both front fetlock joints.
