Racing Incident Report

The start was delayed as EXCITING TIMES was difficult to load into its stall. Before being allowed to race again, EXCITING TIMES will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. PERFECT SHADOW was slowly away. On jumping, CYBER WISDOM was immediately steadied and shifted across behind other runners to take up a position closer to the rail. About the 800 Metres, OPTIC DYNAMIC shifted out away from HUGE HOPE. Some inconvenience was caused to ADMIRAL and obliged that horse which was already racing wide to cover even more ground. About the 300 Metres, EXCITING TIMES shifted out towards STAR DRAGON which itself then shifted out slightly, causing some inconvenience to ENERGETIC PRINCE. In the Straight, LOVE ON EARTH hung in and proved very difficult to ride out. In the run to the winning post, EXCITING TIMES continued to shift ground. J Egan (HUGE HOPE) said he had hoped to ride the horse somewhere about midfield, in the early stages he was not able to settle HUGE HOPE and got further back than he would have wished. He said in the Straight the horse made several unusual noises with its breathing and as he was concerned with the way it was travelling, he did not ride the horse out as he normally would. MULTIPERFECTION and HUGE HOPE were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that OPEN TREASURE was bleeding from both nostrils. Following the race, the Veterinary Surgeon examined HUGE HOPE. He reported that an endoscopic examination revealed a copious amount of blood in the windpipe.
