Racing Incident Report

ALF was withdrawn on 4.1.02 on veterinary grounds (high temperature) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter MASTER MAGIC (B Marcus). After being boxed, CHINESESPORT GLORY became fractious and reared, momentarily had its off side front leg on an adjoining panel. The horse was released from the gates, trotted up and after the necessary consultations the Veterinary Surgeon said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, CHINESESPORT GLORY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. When the gates opened, BY INSTINCT bounded in the air, shifted in and brushed TRAVELLER STAR. REFRESHINGLY was slowly away. About the 1200 Metres, HONEST DRAGON was steadied when momentarily tight just inside the hindquarters of BY INSTINCT. About the 300 Metres, ALL WIN was checked when disappointed for running between SURPLUS and REFRESHINGLY. To obtain running, ALL WIN was eventually shifted to the outside of SURPLUS. E Legrix said the intention was to ride TEMMOKU along from an outside gate and take up a position somewhere towards the front. He said however at no stage did TEMMOKU travel as he thought it would and was well beaten a long way out. TEMMOKU was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said TEMMOKU was bleeding from both nostrils.
