Racing Incident Report
EN RAPPORT was slowly away. When the gates opened, WONDERFUL LIFE, which was being steadied to take up a position behind the field but closer to the running rail, threw its head about. Close to the winning post, THE RICH MAN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MENTOR which was shifting in and tight outside SPECIFIC SORCEROR. R Fradd (MY JOY) said in retrospect the horse might be backing up a little quickly today after its hard run on 26 December 2001. He said on that day from a good alley MY JOY had enjoyed a very soft run in the race, but was ridden hard over the concluding stages to win. He said today from a gate towards the outside it had been obliged to travel wide throughout. He also said the extra 200 Metres of the race today when all the circumstances were considered might have been against MY JOY. He said the horse travelled well until the early part of the Straight, but shortly thereafter commenced to give ground. MY JOY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
